NEW HAVEN POLICE MAKE ARRESTS IN WEEKEND INCIDENTS
(10/22/2007) NEW HAVEN- New Haven Police arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing incident Saturday morning where a 28-year-old male suffered wounds to his neck. Ventura Alinez, a 41-year-old New Haven resident was arrested and charged with Assault in the 1st degree. The incident occurred at 4:47 am Saturday at a home located at 58 Revere Street. The victim is in stable condition at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Early Sunday morning, officers arrested 24-year-old Eric Frieson charging him with Driving Under the Influence, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License, Unsafe Movement and Failure to Drive a Reasonable Distance Apart. Frieson struck a pedestrian at 300 York Street as the victim was attempting to enter another vehicle.
New Haven Police Officers were dispatched to 10 Gilbert Street on Saturday when a woman reported she was being threatened by a man with a gun. Using the description provided by the victim, officers arrested 24-year-old Kevin Gillian of New Haven. Officers apprehended Gillian after stopping his vehicle on Orchard Street between Edgewood Avenue and Elm Street. The vehicle and the operator matched the police broadcast. Gillian was arrested for the following charges: Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree, Criminal Trespass in the 1st degree, Carrying a Pistol without a Permit, and Carrying a Weapon in a Motor Vehicle.
